Welcome to Cape Fear Pottery!
About the Potters: Reuben and Ann York
We began our passion of playing in clay in January 2001 at the NC State University Crafts Center. After practicing and developing our various pottery making skills--we established Cape Fear Pottery in the small town of Lillington, North Carolina in 2003. Ann shapes slabs of clay into trays and plates, while Reuben throws pots on the potter's wheel. Our beginning thrill of shaping something useful from a ball of clay has grown into an enthusiasm for producing high quality clayworks--which have been enjoyed throughout the world.
Our pottery is primarily functional--which means it is made to be used. Our pottery is lead-free, microwave and dishwasher safe, and can be used in the oven--when cold oven started.
All of our pottery is either wheel-thrown or slab-built by hand. We do not use slip-cast molds for any of our pieces: therefore, each piece is unique and has no exact duplicate.
Our pottery can be found at arts & crafts shows, shoppes in NC, and our own studio. Check out our website pages for more information. Thanks for looking!!
